How's everybody doing? Rickey here to answer a common question that I'm asked on a daily basis.

Whenever someone finds out that I'm a personal trainer here in Nashville, they usually respond with this question, “Hey, what are some exercises that I can do tone my arms?” or “What can I do to flatten my stomach?
Now mind you, these individuals, who are mostly females, are not on any kind of workout program at all.

First, I ask them what does their typical exercise regime look like. They give an answer such as, “Well, I walk sometimes.” I've already predicted their answer and have my answer ready.

YOU SHOULD WORK YOUR WHOLE BODY. There is no such thing as spot-removing fat.

I don't blame women for believing this myth. I blame the infomercials and other scammers. There's a new instrument with ground-breaking technology" every week that promises to give you a six pack within 2 weeks or that “targets troublesome regions.” These misleading ads go all the way back to the 50's where they had the vibrating belts that were supposed to burn fat from your midsection.

Its a lie... point blank. Surgery is the only way to do spot-removal of fat deposits.
Now that we know what's false, what's true you ask?

Weight training, cardio and nutrition! Where you lose fat is totally up to your body as it will burn weight in certain areas to proportion itself out over time.

Here's a sample workout that you can do the next you're at the gym:

Do 3 sets, 10 – 12 reps

Combo #1
Squat shoulder presses
Pushups
Jump rope 1 min.
Rest 2 min.

Combo #2
Step ups
Bent over lateral fly
Mountain climber 1 min
Rest 2 min.

Combo #3
Hamstring curls with swiss ball
Triceps bench dip
Lateral hops 1 min.
Rest 2 min.

Combo #4
Reverse crunch
Fast feet on box 1 min.
Rest 2 min.
